Fire causes damage to GMC Baramulla hostel room

Baramulla, Feb 3: Fire broke out from a hostel building of Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, Saturday morning causing minor damage to one of the hostel rooms.

An official of the GMC Baramulla said that there was no major damage to the hostel building as the hostel staff besides the security officials deployed at the hospital immediately brought the fire under control with the help of fire extinguishers.

“It was a minor fire incident in which a room suffered minor damage. The timely intervention by the staff and the security officials of the GMC prevented the fire from spreading to other rooms. The cause of the fire was a heating gadget,” he said.
