FIR registered in house collapse incident at Reasi

Rajouri, Mar 5: Police in Reasi district has registered a case in the house collapse incident in Reasi district. A woman and her three minor children were killed in the incident.

People from the area accused grave negligence by Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) officers and contractor executing work of road construction from Kunderdhan to Mamankote. They alleged that in the incident portion of clay and rocks slided downwards from hilltop and fell on a Kacha house which collapsed. A woman Phula Akhter (26) and her three minor daughters died while two other members of family sustained injuries. The incident occurred at Majra Kund village of Chassana in Mahore sub division of Reasi district.

After this incident, locals lodged protest accusing PMGSY and contractors for negligence that caused the incident.

They had said that construction work of road from Kunderdhan to Mamankote is going on but the contractor while executing the work against the norms has thrown the debris along the road stretch and this debris caused landslide and took four innocent lives.

Locals also submitted a complaint before police and civil administration and called for stern action against officers of contractor.
