Financial Commissioner reviews development works at Budgam college

Budgam, Aug 7: Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Higher Education Department, Shantmanu, on Wednesday, visited Sheikh-ul-Alam Memorial Government Degree College Budgam to take stock of ongoing academic and infrastructure initiatives.

He was received by the Principal of the college, Prof Muhammad Amin Malik, alongside faculty members and staff.

During an interaction with the teaching and administrative staff in the Principal’s chamber, Shantmanu reviewed the academic performance of the institution and took detailed feedback on various infrastructural projects underway.

Later, the Financial Commissioner inspected several under-construction facilities, including the library block, eight-classroom block and the indoor stadium, all nearing completion.

He also reviewed the PM-USHA renovation works underway in the main college building and paid a visit to the hi-tech poly-house (quality seed grower plant) on campus.

The visiting official expressed satisfaction over the pace and quality of the work.

Assuring full support to the college administration, Shantmanu lauded the efforts being made to strengthen both academic and infrastructural capacities of the institution.

He called for sustained focus on quality education and committed assistance from the Higher Education Department in achieving the college’s developmental goals.
