Financial Commissioner Education Department to hold additional charge of Chairman JKBOSE, Director SCERT
Srinagar Mar 01: The Jammu and Kashmir government has assigned the charge of Chairman JK Board of School Education (BOSE) and Director SCERT to Financial Commissioner Education Department Shantmanu.
The notification in this regard has been issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) by the orders of the Jammu and Kashmir government.
As per the notification, the decision has been taken by the government in exercise of the powers conferred by section (1) of section 1w of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, Act 1975.
"The government hereby orders that Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner, School Education Department, shall discharge the function of Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT, in addition to his own duties," the notification reads.
The decision has been taken as "an interim arrangement, till further orders."
As already reported by this newspaper, the J&K Government in December last year reconstituted a search committee for recommending the panel of the candidates for the appointment as Chairman JKBOSE and the Director J&K SCERT.
The committee is headed by Administrative Secretary Agricultural Production Department as its chairman while the Administrative Secretary of School Education Department (SED), GAD and Higher Education Department (HED) will be the members of the committee.
The other two members of the search committee are Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir (KU) and Vice Chancellor University of Jammu (JU).
The Search Committee after holding its meeting on February 17 of 2025, shortlisted 14 candidates for the appointment of Chairman JK Board of School Education (JKBOSE) and Director JKSCERT.
The shortlisted candidates, as per the official document are scheduled to appear for the interaction before the Search Committee on March 5 of 2025 in civil Secretariat Jammu.
