Financial assistance provided to Kishtwar fire victims
Kishtwar, Oct 19: Braving all odds, the chairman of Falah Aam Waqaf Kashmir Alamgari Bazar, a Shia community initiative team led by its chairman, Er Munshi Abrar, was the first NGO of its kind to reach out to the fire victims of Warwan Valley, Kishtwar, with financial aid.
This support enabled the victims to construct shelter sheds, and Er Abrar handed over Rs 2.5 lakhs as a token of love and respect for fellow people in distress.
In discussions with local community leaders, Er Abrar promised further assistance and appealed to people of all backgrounds to contribute help in the form of “building materials” and timber besides the insulation materials. He advocated for the government to provide “prefab shelters for the victims before the passes are closed.”
Given the colossal loss of property, he urged each household in Kashmir to spare a thousand rupees for rehabilitation by providing temporary sheds for the fire victims.
