Fighting all odds, Karnah boy cracks JEE Advance in first attempt
Kupwara, Jun 4: Faizan Shakeel Badhana from border town Karnah in north Kashmir's Kupwara district has become the first student from the region to crack the prestigious JEE Advance exam and that too in his very first attempt. His remarkable achievement has brought laurels to the remote border area, inspiring other students across Kashmir. "I studied till 7th in my native village and then in 8th I joined New Convent Srinagar from where I passed my 10th class with flying colors. Following my 10th class I joined SP Higer Secondary School Srinagar and passed my 11th and 12th class there," Faizan told Greater Kashmir.
Faizan who drew inspiration of qualifying JEE from his NITian cousin, decided to avail coaching to chase his dream of entering IIT. "During my 12th Class I joined Rise Institute for coaching and got motivated to excel in the field. The teachers at Rise Institute were instrumental to guide all the students yearning to qualify JEE Advance," Faizan told Greater Kashmir. "I qualified JEE Mains with 97%, following which I appeared in NDA examination and qualified that too with better rank. Since I have been preparing for last two years as it was my dream so I appeared in the JEE Advance and luckily was able to qualify it with good rank.
thus making me first in the entire Karnah to qualify JEE Advance," a jubilant Faizan said. Faizan said, "Government should improve education facilities in Karnah and in other border areas of Jammu and Kashmir so that the students from these areas can qualify competitive examinations in large number," he said. Faizan said that those who want to qualify any competitive examination should be dedicated and sincere towards achieving their goal and I believe remaining away from social media can be a game changer for the aspirants," Faizan said. Faizan said that those who need any sort of help regarding the examination can reach out to him for any assistance. "I will feel happy to assist anyone yearning to sit in JEE examination," he added.
