Feeble western disturbance likely to hit J-K on Dec 21, 22; says MeT
Srinagar, Dec 16: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday said that few isolated higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir may receive snow due to feeble western disturbance which may likely to hit the region on December 21 and 22.
It however said there will be no significant weather activity till Dec 25.
From December 16-17 the weather conditions will remain generally dry, while as on December 18 the weather will remain generally cloudy, the MeT official said
He said from December 19-20 the weather conditions will remain generally dry.
From December 21-22, there will be cloudy with light snow over higher reaches towards late evening/night of 21st to 22nd early morning and dry weather thereafter, he said.
The official added that from December 23-26, there will be dry weather likely.
He said that cold wave to continue at isolated to scattered places. “The sub-zero temperature in Kashmir valley will continue, while Jammu region will also see fall in temperatures in coming days,” he said.
He said though there is no significant weather forecast in coming days, but simultaneously maintained that tourists, travelers and transporters are advised to follow advisories by administration and traffic department before scheduling any travel plan.
“In view of fresh snowfall, sub-freezing temperature and icy conditions over roads of important passes and higher reaches, the tourists, travelers and transporters are hereby advised to follow directions/advisories from administration and traffic department,” he added.
