Federation of private schools felicitates Islamic scholar
Poonch, Oct 10: The Federation of All Private Schools of India, a national-level organization, has conferred the ‘Lifetime achievement award’ on Maulana Ghulam Qadir, a distinguished Islamic scholar and eminent educationist, in recognition of his valuable and historic contributions to education and social welfare.
The award was received on his behalf by his son, Waheed Ahmad Banday in an event held at Srinagar the other day.
Maulana Ghulam Qadir established an educational institution nearly half a century ago in the remote and underdeveloped border district of Poonch. Under his vision, separate centres were established for religious and modern education and schools were set up for both boys and girls.
Alongside education, Maulana’s service in the field of social welfare has also been noteworthy.
Maulana has also played an exemplary role in promoting religious and intellectual harmony.
