“Whereas the rooftop solar plants over the roofs of factory buildings can help the participating enterprises to save on their energy costs, it will drastically reduce the distribution and transmission losses besides the burden on power distribution transformers for the Distribution Companies (DISCOM). Above all solar energy plants needed to be encouraged to reduce carbon footprints to provide a safe and pollution-free environment to our future generations,” the FCIK memorandum read.

The FCIK demanded providing similar incentives to rooftop solar plants as were being provided in the case of DG set subsidy with removal of the upper limit to allow as much generation as could be produced by individual units.
