Fatiha Khwani of Dr Ashraf Bég’s wife to be held in Sarnal today

Anantnag, Nov 3: The congregational Fatiha Khwani of Naseema Anjum, wife of noted physician, author and columnist Dr. Mirza Ashraf Bég, will be held on Tuesday at the family’s ancestral graveyard in Sarnal, Anantnag, at 1:30 pm, following Salatul-Zuhr.

A Majlis-e-Quran Khwani will be held thereafter at the family residence in Sarnal, near Masjid Madni. Anjum passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

Dr  Bég, a well-known medical professional and writer, was a regular contributor to Greater Kashmir. His eldest daughter, Sana Bég, serves as Executive Director of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Canada – Doctors Without Borders. She is a graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism, and her work has appeared in several international publications.
