Farooq Shah lays foundation stone for BDO quarter

Srinagar, Nov 30: MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a BDO Quarter at Dhobiwan.

According to a press release, the e project is being executed by the Department of Rural Development under the Area Development Plan (ADP) Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 18.05 lakhs. This initiative aims to strengthen administrative infrastructure and enhance service delivery in the region. Following laying of foundation stone, Farooq Ahmad Shah inspected the site in Barzulla where established of a Fruit Mandi has been planned.

During his visit to Dhobiwan, Shah also visited Government High School, where he interacted with students and staff. He assured the students that necessary steps would be taken to address their requirements, focusing on improving educational facilities in the area.

As part of his outreach, MLA Gulmarg held an interaction with the youth of the constituency in Town Hall Kunzer. The youth group deliberated and apprised MLA Gulmarg of the issues faced by youth of the constituency. He discussed various government schemes and initiatives, appreciating the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative contributions of the young minds. Shah reaffirmed his commitment to creating more opportunities for the youth of his constituency and encouraging their active participation in developmental activities.

Later MLA Gulmarg met various delegations in Kunzer and Tangmarg. He listened to their grievances and concerns, giving on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for immediate redressal. Stressing the importance of a people-first approach, Shah emphasized the need for government departments to adopt a more citizen-centric and efficient work culture.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah said, “Our focus remains on holistic development and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard. Infrastructure development, education, and youth empowerment are key pillars of our mission to build a stronger, more prosperous Gulmarg.”
