Farooq Abdullah inaugurates T-20 cricket tournament in Poonch
Poonch, Dec 30: In a significant move to promote a healthy lifestyle and identify young talents in sports, the Gulah Mohammad Jan Memorial T-20 Tournament was launched in Poonch. This event witnessed the participation of over 32 youth teams.
A statement said that the tournament was officially declared open by Dr Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament, at the Sports Stadium Poonch over 32 teams of youth signed up to take part in the event.
Organised by a dedicated team led by Raiz Madni, Shoaib Mughal, Asgar Ali, Imran Shah, and others, the tournament aimed to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their talents and engage in physical activities promoting health and wellness. The inauguration ceremony was graced by several notable personalities, including Jahangir Hussain Mir, former MLC, and Ajaz Jan, former MLA, who addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of sports in the development of young individuals.
The Gulah Mohammad Jan Memorial T-20 Tournament is more than just a sports event; it is a testament to the commitment of the Poonch community towards nurturing and recognizing the potential of its youth.
