“Each mobile veterinary van is designed to provide a range of essential services, including preventive healthcare, vaccinations, deworming, diagnosis and treatment of common livestock diseases, and emergency medical care for injured animals,” he said.

The DC Anantnag stressed the challenges faced by the farmers in accessing veterinary services, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

“The distribution of these mobile veterinary vans underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors, which are vital components of the local economy,” he said.

Hamid said that this proactive step was a reflection of the district administration’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of livestock, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ultimately improving the livelihoods of the people in Anantnag district.

The statement said that the local farmers and livestock keepers thanked the district administration for encouraging and taking advantage of these mobile veterinary services.

It said that the schedule and contact details for each van’s operation within the six blocks would be made available through the district’s Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Departments.

The statement said that people, especially the farmer community, were asked to take benefit of this initiative through designated Helpline No 1962.
