Farmers awareness, wheat distribution programme at SKUAST-J

Jammu, Nov 12: Agrometeorology section of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-J) organised one day “Farmer awareness cum wheat distribution programme” at varsity’s Research Farm at Chatha on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

The programme was organised under the aegis of Dr B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor and guidance of Prof S K Gupta, Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

A total of 225 farmers (male and female) participated in the programme. The main objective of the programme was to make farmers community aware about the climate changes and its impact on rabi season crops and to improve the socio-economic status of the economically weaker sections especially SC and STs by distributing the high yielding wheat seed (var DBW-187) among them.
