Famed writer and poet Dr Satish Vimal conferred with Khillat-e-Balkhi award

Srinagar, Aug 24: Famed writer, poet and thinker Dr Satish Vimal has been conferred Khillat-e-Balkhi (Balkhi Memorial Award) 2025, the annual honour of Nowsoz People's Foundation at Pakherpora.

This award is granted to one personality every year for exemplary contribution in the field of Sufi-Rishi studies or intellectual traditions. This award has been administered in the name of famed Sufi Saint Sultan Ali Aali Balkhi whose shrine is at Pakherpora.

The award was presented to Dr Satish Vimal for his immense contribution to the Sufi-Rishi studies and his research oriented works about spiritual traditions of the land.

President of the People's Foundation G M Nousoze said that the jury unanimously selected Dr Satish Vimal for the award considering his significant and unparalleled literary contribution.

The award function was attended by prominent scholars, intellectuals, senior citizens and religious personalities from different parts of Kashmir Valley.
