Jammu, Jul 4: Crime Branch Jammu has presented a charge-sheet against two notorious fraudsters, both hailing from Baramulla, for duping a Pulwama resident on pretext of providing a job in the High Court.

One of the fraudsters posed as an employee of the High Court and provided the complainant a fake appointment order, claiming it to be issued from the office of Registrar General High Court.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime, Jammu Benam Tosh, the charge-sheet has been filed in the Passenger Tax Court Jammu against these two notorious fraudsters Mehraj-ud-din son of Ghulam Mohd Wani, resident of Wani Mohalla, Pattan in Baramulla and Abdul Majid Khan, son of Mohd Abdullah Khan, resident of Kreeri, Pattan, Baramulla.

The case FIR No. 60/2022 was registered at Police Station Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu on the written complaint of one Tawseef Ahmad Dar of Pulwama, Kashmir, who alleged therein that the accused duped him of huge hard-earned money on the false promise of arranging job in High Court and provided fake appointment order purported to be of Registrar General High Court.

Accused Meharaj-ud-din Wani posed himself as an employee of High Court and also showed fake employee’s identity card, SSP Crime, Jammu said.

During the course of in-depth investigation conducted by Inspector Meenu Sharma under the supervision of SSP Crime Jammu Benam Tosh, it transpired that the appointment order and cheater’s identity card were fake and no such order and identity card were issued by any High Court authority.
