Faheem Zahoor, 13, strikes gold at National Level Pencak Silat championship
Srinagar, March 04: Faheem Zahoor (13), who hails from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, has emerged as a shining star in the world of martial arts, clinching a gold medal at the national level Pencak Silat Championship held in Patna, Bihar.
Faheem's remarkable journey began in 2017 when he delved into various mixed martial arts disciplines, including Taekwondo, Thai boxing, and Wushu, among others.
His outstanding achievement came to light when he secured the top spot in Thai boxing at a competition in Hyderabad, laying the foundation for his future success. Transitioning to Pencak Silat in 2021, Faheem showcased his prowess in district and state championships, paving the way for his national-level debut.
Faheem's winning streak commenced at the district-level Pencak Silat Championship 2023 held at Govt Degree College Ganderbal, where he clinched a well-deserved gold medal. Building on this triumph, he emerged victorious once again at the state-level championship in Srinagar, earning the privilege to represent his state at the national level.
At the 11th National Pre-Teen, Pre-Junior, and Junior Championship in Patna, Faheem secured a bronze medal, solidifying his status as a rising star in the realm of martial arts.
