Srinagar, Sep 12: Aryans College of Engineering, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh in association with the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) Teaching and Learning Academy, successfully conducted a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) from 2nd to September 7 on the topic “Telemedicine: The Technological Intervention in e-Health.”

Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that this FDP aimed to equip faculty members with the knowledge, skills and expertise necessary to harness the latest advancements in telemedicine, with a focus on AI, wearable devices, and other cutting-edge technologies.

Dr Parveen Kataria, Director General of Aryans Group mentioned that the programme enabled faculty to develop a deep understanding of telemedicine's core concepts, capabilities, and potential applications, while also addressing the benefits and challenges associated with these innovations.

Dr J S Badhan, Coordinator, FDP said that telemedicine, the remote delivery of healthcare services via telecommunication infrastructure, is revolutionising the healthcare sector. It allows healthcare providers to evaluate, diagnose, inform, and treat patients without requiring an in-person visit, making healthcare more accessible and efficient. Expert resource persons from renowned institutions like PGIMER Chandigarh, C-DAC Mohali and Aryans Group of Colleges shared their insights during the programme.

A key highlight was the participants' visit to the Robotics Centre and Telemedicine Department of PGIMER Chandigarh, offering practical exposure to state-of-the-art telemedicine technologies. A total of 36 participants, including senior and junior faculty members as well as students from various institutions across Punjab, attended this FDP.
