Extend parcel service to Baramulla to benefit Sopore fruit mandi: Inam Un Nabi
Srinagar, Sep 12: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for launching a daily parcel train service from Budgam to Delhi dedicated to the transportation of Kashmiri apples, said in a press release.
Inam Un Nabi highlighted that the step came in response to a request earlier made by the Office of incarcerated AIP President and MP Baramulla, Er. Rashid.
“This shows that genuine public issues raised by people’s representatives are being acknowledged, even when they are behind bars,” he noted. He urged the Railway Ministry to extend the parcel service up to Baramulla so that Asia’s largest Fruit Mandi at Sopore gets benefitted. He also appealed to the Government of India to consider starting direct passenger trains, including Vande Bharat, between Baramulla and Delhi.
