‘Expedite all works being executed in Srinagar’
Srinagar, July 18: Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mandeep Kaur, accompanied by Commissioner SMC/CEO, SSCL, Dr Owais Ahmed, undertook a thorough inspection of ongoing developmental works in Srinagar.
Senior officers from various line departments accompanied the Commissioner Secretary during the visit.
The Commissioner SMC/CEO, SSCL provided a detailed briefing to the Commissioner Secretary on various projects as the review commenced from Karanagar.
Mandeep Kaur inspected the development work on underground ducting for communication and electricity cables, development of road including pavements at Karanagar.
Moving forward, the inspection encompassed Shireen Bagh, focusing on the development of walkways and footpaths along the bund.
At Habba Kadal, Mandeep Kaur further directed the officers for construction of public convenience at old Haba Kadal Bridge. She also asked for expediting the repair work and facade improvement of Iskcon Temple besides illumination of old Haba Kadal Bridge.
The inspection further extended to the heritage corridor of city for retrofitting, conservation and facade improvement of Residential/ Commercial Buildings, Walkways/ Pathways including the old Khanqah-e- Moulla shrine besides development and improvement of Jamia Masjid precinct walkway.
Noteworthy projects at Achan Landfill site included Design, Construction, Erection and Commissioning of 130 KLD Septage Treatment Plant including creation of buffer zones around the landfill site.
Mandeep also inspected the construction of shopping complex having twelve shops and two halls at Soura Housing Colony being developed by JKHB.
She inspected the community hall at Malla Bagh and Imamia Park at Alamgari Bazar. She asked for plantation of deodar trees and illumination of park.The inspection further extended to Low Lying Pump Station at Ashai Bagh.
Lastly, Mandeep Kaur directed the concerned to expedite all the works being executed in Srinagar while maintaining all set quality parameters.
