Srinagar, Sep 08: The classwork will resume in nearly all the government and private recognised schools across Kashmir following disruptions last week by rains and floods.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Dr. G N Itoo said that around 40 schools in south and central Kashmir areas are still inundated due to which the routine physical classwork cannot be started in these schools.

"Schools will open today across Kashmir valley except 40 schools of south and central Kashmir areas where water logging is an issue. Some schools have been designated as rehabilitation centres for evacuated people," he told Greater Kashmir.

He said the staff in such schools staff have been asked to remain present in schools and arrange online classes for the students.

"We have other five school buildings which sustained damages due to flood waters but the alternate arrangements for th students and staff of these schools has been already done," G N Itoo told Greater Kashmir.
