Ex-terrorist turned absconder arrested in Kishtwar
Kishtwar, Dec 21: Kishtwar police Thursday stated to have achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of Parvaiz Ahmed alias Haris, an ex-terrorist, who had eluded arrest for the past 18 years.
The absconder was wanted in case FIR No 100/2005, under sections 302/307/RPC 7/27 I Arms Act, registered at Police Station, Kishtwar.
A police spokesperson said, “Relying on credible information from sources, a dedicated police team from Police Station Kishtwar, led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday SHO Kishtwar, executed a prompt and targetted raids on suspected locations. This operation culminated in the successful arrest of the long-standing absconder, identified as Parvaiz Ahmed alias Haris, son of Abdul Rashid Bagwan, residing in
Hullar Kishtwar.”
Meanwhile, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal reiterated his warning to all absconders, urging them to surrender at the nearest police station. “Otherwise, stern action under Section 82/83 CrPC shall be taken against them,” SSP said.
