Event for children held in Downtown

Srinagar, Nov 9: The Civil Society Group Khanyar organised a community event titled “Run for Harmony” at Ikhwan Chowk, culminating at Shehr-e-Khas Gate.khanyar.

The organisers in a statement said the run was divided into two categories — for children up to 12 years and up to 18 years of age. Participants from various Darsgahs and educational institutions of the Khanyar area took part in the event with great enthusiasm. Despite the chilly weather, the young runners actively participated, making the event lively and spirited.

The run was flagged off by noted social and environmental activist Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo. Trophies, cash prizes, and consolation awards were distributed among the participants at the conclusion of the event.

Police Station Khanyar and Gousia Hospital Khanyar provided necessary assistance to ensure the successful and smooth conduct of the programme.

The event received overwhelming appreciation from parents and the local community. The Civil Society Group Khanyar expressed its commitment to organising similar activities in the future to promote civic awareness, social harmony, and community welfare in the area.
