Evacuation efforts: Premature babies moved from Al-Shifa Hospital
New Delhi, Nov 19: Thirty-one premature babies have been relocated from Gaza City's Al-Shifa Hospital, and are now receiving "urgent care," according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The director-general of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, commended the heroic efforts of health workers in Gaza. Despite this evacuation, more than 200 individuals, including staff and patients, remain stranded at al-Shifa.
Ghebreyesus stated that additional missions are in the planning stages for their urgent transportation, contingent upon assurances of safe passage. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society saod that they successfully evacuated the premature babies in coordination with WHO and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. There are still 250 patients in the hospital.
