Srinagar, Nov 30: Eleven-year-old Erin Mir has made headlines by achieving an extraordinary feat in tennis, winning national championships in two different age categories on the same day at the National Ranking Tournament hosted by Excellence Tennis NCR.

The young athlete from Jammu and Kashmir claimed victory in both the Under-14 and Under-12 categories, a remarkable accomplishment that highlights her exceptional talent and potential. This victory marks a significant milestone in Erin's budding tennis career.

Erin has become the first girl from Jammu and Kashmir to break into the top twenty rankings of the All India Tennis Association, a testament to her skill and dedication to the sport. Her recent performance adds to an impressive run, having won three consecutive All India Ranking National Tournament championships in November 2024.

Currently training at the Ballpark Tennis Academy in Delhi, Erin relocated from her home region in January 2022. She has been under the guidance of Vinod Kumar, a highly respected coach with over 15 years of experience at the prestigious Delhi Lawn Tennis Academy. Kumar is renowned for developing numerous international tennis stars, a statement said.
