Er Rashid voted for VP election as per his conscience: Inam Un Nabi

Srinagar, Sep 9: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi has said that AIP President and Member of Parliament from Baramulla Er Rashid while exercising his democratic right during the elections for Vice President, cast his vote “as per his conscience”, choosing the candidate whom he felt is better positioned to respect the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“He was brought from Tihar Jail to the Parliament under tight security arrangements to participate in the election for the Vice President of India,” said Inam in a statement.

According to AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi despite his prolonged incarceration, Er Rashid “continues to represent the voice of the people fearlessly and with dignity, proving once again that his political commitment remains rooted in safeguarding the democratic rights of Kashmiris.”
