EPG, J&K RTI Movement observe 3rd death anniversary of Syed Nassrarullah Shah

Srinagar, Aug 23: Environmental Policy Group( EPG) and J&K RTI Movement organised an event to observe the 3rd death anniversary of Syed Nassrarullah Shah, who championed the cause of the environment in J&K.

The chief guest of the event was G.R.Sufi, Former Chief Information Commissioner. RTI activist Raja Muzaffar Bhat, paid glowing tributes to Syed Nassarullah. Others who paid tributes included Dr. Tauseef Ahmad Bhat, EPG GC member, Dr. MM Shuja, co-convenor EPG, , Advocate Rafiq Bazaz, , Former SMC Commissioner Dr GN Qasba, Farooq Kuthoo, Ishrat Gul, a Kashmiri poet, and Anjum Assad.

Chairman of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation, Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo announced planting thousands of trees in Khimber and restoring a spring as a tribute to Syed Nassrarullah. Faiz Bakshi, conveyor EPG, presented the vote of thanks. Advocate Shafqat Nazir anchored the event.

On the occasion, EPG and RTI Movement presented awards to several persons. Executive Editor of Greater Kashmir, Arif Shafi Wani, was felicitated for environmental conservation. Tariq Rather- Incharge News section DD News, and Shuaib Nasir, Kohsheen TV were also awarded. Dr. MM Shuja, and Irshad were awarded for their RTI activism. Abdul Ahad from Kupwara was awarded for having planted hundreds of Chinars. A student, Mueed from Shivpora, and Er. Amir were also felicitated.
