EPFO promotes Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana at JKTDC Jammu

Jammu, Aug 20: In a major outreach initiative to promote employment generation under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), officers of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office Jammu, held a meeting with Dr Riaz Ahmed, General Manager (Operations), J&K Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC), Jammu.

Dr Ahmed’s engagement with EPFO officers marked a significant step toward strengthening collaboration for the effective implementation of the newly launched scheme in J&K.

Alongside the meeting, EPFO conducted an awareness seminar at JKTDC Jammu to educate establishments about the objectives, benefits, and implementation framework of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana. The session was led by Bal Krishan, Enforcement Officer, and Jatin Gupta, Accounts Officer, who detailed the scheme’s provisions aimed at job creation and formal workforce expansion.

Launched by the Prime Minister on August 15, 2025, the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana is expected to benefit 1.92 crore first-time employees and generate over 3.5 crore new jobs across India, with a special focus on the manufacturing sector.

The seminar highlighted the scheme’s structure and objectives, benefits for employers and employees, compliance framework, operational procedures, and the role of establishments in promoting formal employment and social security.

The event witnessed participation from 25 to 35 stakeholders, including top management and HR officials, who appreciated EPFO’s proactive efforts in simplifying the scheme. Sakshi Matoo Sambyal, EPFO Signatory, JKTDC Jammu, welcomed the initiative, noting that it would create sustainable employment opportunities while extending social security benefits to the workforce.

To further support establishments, the EPFO Regional Office Jammu has established a dedicated facilitation desk at the PRO counter, offering live demonstrations of the scheme and assistance through the UMANG App FAT feature.

The initiative underscores EPFO’s commitment to fostering formal employment, enhancing social security coverage, and ensuring that the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana reach both employers and employees in J&K.
