Jammu, Jul 22: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office Jammu, conducted a seminar on the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme at the Bari Brahmana Industrial Association (BBIA), as part of its ongoing outreach efforts to raise awareness about the scheme among local establishments.

The event was attended by around 40–50 participants, including key office bearers of BBIA and representatives from various industries. BBIA represents nearly 300 industrial units, mostly in the manufacturing sector, which is a major focus of the ELI scheme. Notably, the scheme offers a four-year benefit window for manufacturing units, compared to two years for other sectors.

Welcoming the EPFO team, BBIA President Lalit Mahajan appreciated the initiative, describing the seminar as one of national relevance. He noted that the ELI scheme is expected to boost employment generation in the region, especially among local youth.

The seminar included detailed presentations by Enforcement Officer Devinder Singh and Accounts Officer Aman Dhandhi, who elaborated on the objectives, benefits, and implementation procedures of the scheme. They emphasised the role of industries in leveraging the scheme to create new job opportunities and ensure social security for first-time employees.

The ELI scheme aims to bring approximately 1.92 crore individuals into the formal workforce and generate over 3.5 crore new jobs across India, with a special emphasis on manufacturing-led growth.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion and positive feedback from participants, who expressed appreciation for the clarity and relevance of the information shared. Other BBIA office bearers, including General Secretary Viraj Malhotra, Vice President Ajay Langar, Secretary Rajesh Jain, and Treasurer Rishikant Gupta were also present.
