Jammu, Jul 17: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office Jammu, conducted two awareness seminars on the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme at Bajaj Allianz and Uflex, Jammu.

The seminars aimed to educate employers and employees about the benefits, features, and operational framework of the ELI Scheme, while promoting employment generation and formal workforce participation. Several establishments, including S.D. Enterprises, R.K. Enterprises, Shine Enterprises, BD Security Ltd., and Jai Jawan Security Service, also participated.

Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II Naresh Yadav informed attendees that around 1.92 crore individuals joining the formal workforce for the first time are expected to benefit from the scheme. The initiative is projected to generate over 3.5 crore new jobs across India within two years, with a special focus on the manufacturing sector. For this sector, the scheme is applicable for up to four years, while for others, incentives are available for two years.

The ELI Scheme provides a one-time wage subsidy of up to Rs 15,000 to first-time employees in the formal sector earning up to Rs 1 lakh per month, disbursed in two instalments after six and twelve months of continuous employment. Employers, on the other hand, are eligible to receive monthly incentives of up to Rs 3,000 per new employee, with extended support for those in manufacturing.

Account Officers Balkrishan and Aman Dhandhi delivered detailed presentations covering the scheme’s objectives, eligibility criteria, implementation process, and the role of employers in enhancing employment and social security.

The sessions received an encouraging response from around 40–50 participants. Representatives from Uflex, including Santosh Kumar Singh (AGM HR) and Pankaj Singh (Manager HR), along with Maninder Saggu from Bajaj Allianz, praised EPFO’s outreach and the clarity provided on the scheme.

EPFO reiterated its commitment to conducting similar awareness drives in the future to facilitate the implementation of employment-linked welfare schemes and strengthen its engagement with stakeholders.
