EPFO Jammu hosts monthly cross-functional meeting
Jammu, Apr 8: Officials from various branches of the Ministry of Labour & Employment in J&K and Ladakh held their monthly cross-functional team meeting at the EPFO Regional Office in Jammu, chaired by Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I.
The meeting welcomed new Officer-in-Charge of EPFO Regional Office Jammu, Sumeet Singh, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I. Other participants included Shri Dushyant Pande, Deputy Director, ESIC, RO Jammu and Dr. Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director (IC) DTNBWED, RO Jammu.
Key discussions focused on the "Handbook of Convergence: Ministry of Labour and Employment" and coordination between EPFO and ESIC regarding establishments with multiple complaints, specifically citing M/s Unique Sanitation and Outsourcing Services. EPFO reported securing one month of provident fund deposits from this establishment through facilitation by principal employers IIIM and SFC.
Officials also planned joint training programs, with DTNBWED agreeing to share their training offerings for both formal and informal sector workers, which EPFO and ESIC may utilize.
During the meeting, a delegation from Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) visited to felicitate Shri Rizwan Uddin, who has been transferred. The delegation included state-level office bearers who extended their best wishes to the outgoing commissioner.
In his farewell remarks, Shri Rizwan Uddin highlighted the significance of ESIC dispensaries in Srinagar and the hospital in Jammu for workers in J&K and Ladakh. Incoming commissioner Shri Sumeet Singh outlined his vision focusing on citizen-centric services, transparency, inter-departmental coordination, and fostering innovation.
