EPFO Jammu hosts awareness programme at Bari Brahmana Industrial area
Srinagar, Apr 28: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Jammu, in collaboration with the Bari Brahmana Industrial Association, successfully conducted 'Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0', an awareness and outreach programme at Bari Brahmana, Samba.
The programme was presided over by Enforcement Officers Devinder Singh and Harshit Pathak, aimed at educating employers, employees, and other stakeholders about various EPFO schemes and grievance redressal mechanisms.
The programme primarily focused on the Centralised Pension Payment System (CPPS), types of pension under EPS, pension eligibility, and pension claim filing procedures. Participants were sensitised about grievance filing through EPFiGMS, CPGRAMS, and other digital portals, along with fraud prevention measures and employees' rights. Detailed discussions covered Provident Fund (PF), Pension, and Insurance schemes, ensuring that all eligible employees receive social security benefits from their first day of employment.
During the session, the importance of ECR (Electronic Challan cum Return) submission by employers was highlighted, and participants were informed about the common reasons for claim rejections. The Enforcement Officers reviewed EPF compliance status of various construction companies, firms, contractors, and subcontractors, directing all private schools and firms to ensure 100% enrollment of their employees and timely deposit of EPF contributions. Companies were also advised to obtain EPF codes from Jammu to facilitate local staff.
Key district representatives Lalit Mahajan, President of B/B Industrial Association, and Viraj Malhotra, General Secretary of B/B Industrial Association, attended the event. Employers, including Contractors, Jai Beverages, Sai Santosh, Amann Industries, Fil Industries, Saraswati Agro Chemicals, GSP Power Projects, and Jammu Minerals, were instructed to ensure the registration of employees working under different firms, agencies, and contractors operating under their jurisdiction.
Hands-on training was provided on UAN activation, Aadhaar and bank seeding, e-nomination, online claim filing, and employer compliance requirements. The District Nodal Officers also addressed queries from employees, employers, and company representatives.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various sectors, reinforcing awareness and implementation of EPFO schemes in Jammu.
