Ensure smooth facilities for devotees: Usman Majid

Srinagar, Aug 26: Former Minister and MLA Bandipora Usman Majid e on Monday has urged Bandipora District administration to implement a foolproof mechanism to facilitate devotees during the annual Urs of Sufi Poet Abdul Khaliq Najjar, Urf Khale Sabe Chan Ajasi, at the Ajas shrine in Bandipora.

In a statement, Majid emphasised that the revered shrine is a focal point of faith for millions. During the Urs, the number of devotees visiting the shrine increases significantly, making it crucial for the district administrations to ensure that visitors do not face any difficulties, he said.

Majid called on the Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering (PHE), and other relevant departments to guarantee continuous availability of water and electricity at the shrine. He also urged the authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow on all routes leading to the shrine at Ajas.

He stressed that the administration is obligated to provide round-the-clock transport facilities, drinking water, and electricity to ensure a hassle-free observance of the Urs.
