Engineers hail promotion drive in Jal Shakti Department
Srinagar, May 9: The Jammu & Kashmir Engineering Services Forum (JKESF) has expressed gratitude to the J&K Government for executing a sweeping promotion drive in the Jal Shakti Department, calling it a watershed moment for the engineering cadre in the region.
According to a statement, the government elevated 30 Executive Engineers to Superintending Engineers within just 20 days, alongside promoting two Superintending Engineers to Chief Engineer positions. This rapid administrative action has drawn widespread appreciation across engineering circles in the Union Territory.
JKESF, representing all JKPSC-qualified engineers in Jammu and Kashmir, specifically thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Jal Shakti Minister Javed Rana, and Additional Chief Secretary Shaleen Kabra for their decisive leadership in implementing these long-awaited promotions.
“This bold and timely decision not only ensures deserved career progression for our engineers but significantly strengthens our capacity to execute critical infrastructure projects,” the forum stated. The group highlighted that the move would particularly benefit the Jal Jeevan Mission, which has already achieved over 80% completion across the territory.
The forum has called upon engineers of all batches to respond to this goodwill gesture by elevating their commitment to service, urging them to maintain the highest standards of dedication, efficiency, and integrity in meeting development targets and deadlines.
