'End intimidation of transporters'

Srinagar, Jan 17: National Conference (NC) General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar Monday asked the administration to provide an enabling environment for Srinagar-based registered transporters to operate on all inter and intra-district routes.

A statement of NC issued here said that speaking to a delegation of Kashmir Transport Workers Association headed by its president Shabir Ahmed Matta that had called on him at the party’s Nawa-e-Subha headquarters in Srinagar, Sagar said, “It is distressing to hear how these transporters are not allowed to make their humble living. I had contacted the concerned authorities earlier as well on this issue after I was approached by various other transport associations.”
