Encounter breaks out in south Kashmir's Kulgam

Srinagar, Sept 08: An encounter broke out militants and security forces in the Gudder area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday.

“Based on specific intelligence,  #encounter has started in Guddar forest of #Kulgam. SOG of J&K Police, Army and CRPF on job. Further details to follow,” said a spokesman of J&K Police on X.

An official said that as the joint teams approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated to, triggering an encounter.

As per news agency KNC, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
