Encounter breaks out in J&K's Udhampur

Udhampur, June 26: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Basantgarh area of Udhampur Jammu division on Thursday morning.

A top police officer said cordon was laid after receiving specific input about suspicious movement in the area

During the searches, security forces came under intense fire, triggering a gunfight, and heavy exchange of fire is ongoing, the officer said.
