Encounter breaks out in J&K’s Kathua

Kathua, March 27: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Juthana area of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning.

Officials said that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.

As the forces zeroed in on the suspected location, they came under fire, triggering a gunfight, they said.

Intermittent firing was ongoing when last reports came in and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.
