Encounter breaks out in J-K’s Udhampur
Srinagar, Feb 03: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Majalta area of Udhampur district on Tuesday.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists.
During the operation, terrorists opened fire on the security forces, triggering an encounter.
Additional reinforcements have been rushed to the area, while the operation is underway.
Meanwhile Army said that contact has been established with the terrorists by the troops of CIF Delta, White Knight Corps, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and CRPF in general area of Basantgarh. They said the cordon has been established and firefighting is on.
