Jammu, Feb 20:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday stated that the empowered beneficiaries of various government schemes demonstrated to one and all with their confidence that they could achieve anything which they envisioned.

“They are demonstrating their faith that “Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai,” he said while interacting with the beneficiaries of various government schemes as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu’ programme during his public rally at M A Stadium in Jammu.

The Prime Minister also distributed appointment orders to over 1700 new government recruits of Jammu and Kashmir virtually except two.

Saima Bashir from Kashmir and Sourav Sharma however got their appointment orders as SI in JKP and JE-Mechanical respectively in person from the Prime Minister on this occasion.

While interacting with the beneficiaries of welfare schemes and even later in his address also, the Prime Minister lauded the spirit of the people of the Union Territory and stated that he was overwhelmed by the clear articulation of the benefits of the government schemes by the beneficiaries who interacted with him.

The Prime Minister complimented the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their spirit of Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu and Kashmir and Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to reach the doorstep of every beneficiary the Prime Minister assured that no deserving beneficiary would be left behind. “I have full faith in you. We will surely create a Viksit Jammu Kashmir. Dreams that were lying unfulfilled for 70 years will be accomplished by Modi soon,” he said.

As the Prime Minister engaged with the beneficiaries of various schemes during, he underscored the government’s commitment to a developed and inclusive future for Jammu and Kashmir.

During such an interaction with a woman from a remote area of Jammu region, the Prime Minister sought the support of the country’s women and in making one crore women in India as “Lakhpati Didis.”

Kirti Sharma of Kathua, a beneficiary of Rashtriya Ajivika Abhiyan, told the Prime Minister about the benefits of being attached to a Self Help Group.  She started her enterprise with a loan of Rs 30,000 and later upgraded to three cows with a second loan of Rs 1 lakh. She expressed hope for self-reliance for not only her group but for the women of the entire district. She told the Prime Minister that her group had repaid the bank loan and presently they had 10 cows. She and her group members got benefitted from many other government schemes. She assured the Prime Minister of full cooperation in his project of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis.

She said she wanted to empower millions of women like her. Keeri said that in her district alone, there were 8,5871 women whom she wanted to uplift and transform into Lakhpati Didi through JKNRLM.

Veena Devi from Kishtwar district informed the Prime Minister that she had availed the benefits of Ujjwala Yojna which made her life better and allowed her to make time for herself and her family. Earlier, she used to fetch wood for cooking from the forests. She also informed the Prime Minister that her family was holding Ayushman Cards and thanked the Prime Minister for the same. The Prime Minister wished her and her family good health.

Riyaz Ahmed Koli of Pulwama. a beneficiary of Jal Jeevan Mission, told the Prime Minister that every house in his village had piped water which had resulted in a huge transformation of life for his family. He also conveyed the blessing of the women of villages to the Prime Minister. After abrogation of Article 370, he attained the property rights of his land. He and other members of the tribal community greatly benefitted from that. The Prime Minister recalling his days as a political worker praised the hospitality of the Gujjar community.

Lal Mohammad, a nomad from Poonch and Shaheena Begum from Bandipora were other beneficiaries who interacted with the Prime Minister

A government spokesperson said that the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RD&PR), Jammu & Kashmir, organized a massive live streaming event across the Union Territory on Tuesday to broadcast the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Jammu.

The event successfully connected over 80,000 people through block-level programs held at all 285-block headquarters in J&K.

“During the event, a PMAY beneficiary from Poonch and two NRLM beneficiaries from Bandipora and Kathua interacted with the Prime Minister sharing their experiences about the benefits received under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the department,” the spokesperson said.

During the event, the spotlight was on the transformative impact of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, with beneficiaries sharing their inspiring stories directly with the Prime Minister.

“Among them were Kirti Sharma from Kathua, a beneficiary of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), who was commended by PM Modi for her efforts in empowering local women. She recounted her journey of empowerment, crediting the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) for changing her life trajectory,” the spokesperson added.

Prime Minister Modi lauded the perseverance and success of these beneficiaries, emphasizing their role as beacons of change in their communities.

He extended his best wishes to them and reiterated the government's commitment to reaching even the remotest villages with beneficial schemes.

The event received accolades from LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo for its successful execution, with special appreciation for the proactive role of Block Development Officers (BDOs) and the NRLM team.
