Elaborate security arrangements in place for Mela Kheer Bhawani: SSP Ganderbal

Ganderbal, May 30: Police authorities on Friday said that elaborated security arrangements have been put in place for the upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Mela Kheer Bhawani, one of the most important festival of Pandit community will be celebrated on June 03 during which a large number of devotees particularly Kashmiri Pandits are expected to visit the temple in Tulmulla area of Ganderbal district.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal said that elaborated security arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth and peaceful Mela Kheer Bhawani.

SSP Ganderbal visited the Mata Kheer Bhawani temple here to review the security arrangements being put in place for a safe and secure annual festival.

“Like previous years, we hope this year also a large number of devotees are expected to come and pay obeisance at Mata Kheer Bhawani temple for which elaborated security arrangements are put in place,” SSP said.

He said that we have made all arrangements for the devotees from their arrival and staying here and adequate security personnel have been deployed for their safety, adding that security agencies have mobilised the additional forces which will remain till the conclusion of the festival”.

“We have kept our domination on all the movements of the devotees including their convoy and stay to the temple,” SSP said, and urged the pilgrims to follow the guidelines provided by the authorities completely and cooperate with the security forces during this period.
