Eid-ul-Adha prayers disallowed at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar: Auqaf

Srinagar, June 17: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid has informed that after Fajr prayers today, police personnel closed the gates of Jama Masjid in Srinagar and informed the Auqaf that Eid prayers scheduled for 9:00 AM would not be permitted at the mosque.

In a statement, it said that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest.

Eid prayers have not been held at Jama Masjid and Eidgah since 2019, said the Auqaf.
