Education Deptt to conduct inspection in Shopian district to review staff strength

Srinagar, July 7: The Directorate of School Education (DSEK) is scheduled to hold an administrative inspection of the Shopian district in south Kashmir on July 11.

The inspection will be held regarding sanctioned strength and vacant positions of various non-teaching posts in the district.

As per the official communication addressed to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Shopian, the inspection will be conducted by a team headed by Chief Accounts Officer on July 11 of 2024. The administrative inspection will be held for the necessary reconciliation of the posts of the districts.

"Accordingly, you are advised to ensure that all the DDOs along with their dealing assistants shall remain present in your office on the scheduled date and time," the official communication reads.

The DSEK has stated that all the DDOs shall provide information in the annexed format duly authenticated by CEO and also keep the relevant record available for the visiting team.

"Leave availed, if any by the concerned officers or officials on the scheduled date shall be deemed to have been cancelled," it reads.

As per the official document, the inspection team will take review of sanctioned strength of Junior Assistants in direct quota besides the strength of the in-position staff and the positions lying vacant in the district.

The team will also review the sanctioned strength of the Junior Assistant posts under promotional quota besides taking stock of available staff and unfilled positions.

The team will also check the sanctioned strength of Multi Tasking Staff, Class IV employees and orderlies in the district.

An official said that the majority of the districts have dearth of non-teaching staff in offices at Zonal and district level due to which the teachers are mostly deputed to manage the non-teaching assignments in these offices to overcome the dearth of clerical staff in these offices.

As per the communication, the inspection team will also take stock of the frozen posts which were utilised to absorb the Grade II and Grade III teachers after their regularisation by the School Education Department (SED) a few years ago.
