Once a dumping yard overwhelmed with Harwan’s solid waste, the spring has now been transformed into a clean and thriving water source, due to efforts of the City Roads Division Srinagar (SMC) and active community participation. The initiative, led by Executive Engineer Er. Imtiaz Ahmad, was lauded by environmentalist Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, chairman of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), who was invited to visit the site. Wangnoo described the restoration as a remarkable example of collective effort and called for similar initiatives to be replicated across the region.

Local residents have expressed appreciation for the initiative, which not only beautifies the area but also serves as a crucial resource for the community.
