Rajouri, Jan 18: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Saturday said that Jammu and Kashmir Government was tackling the situation that has arisen after sixteen deaths in Badhaal village of Kotranka sub division in Rajouri, in right earnest.

He further said that the investigation in all aspects, including consumption of some poisonous material mistakenly or under a criminal conspiracy, was underway and foul play, if any, would be unearthed.

He was talking to media persons on the sidelines of his visit to Badhaal village of Rajouri where three families lost their sixteen members, including twelve children, under mysterious conditions.

During his visit, Choudhary met the families of the deceased in presence of local administration officials including Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma and discussed the situation with them.

He stated that the Jammu and Kashmir government had taken necessary steps to address the issue.

“We are deeply concerned about the mysterious deaths in Badhaal village, and I want to assure the people that we are doing everything possible to investigate the cause and prevent further deaths,” Choudhary said in his media interaction.

He added that investigations by both the police and health departments were ongoing and patients were receiving the best possible treatment.

“The government is also working to provide support to the affected families and some compensation in the initial phase has been provided which will be extended further,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that administration was also looking after food as well as water related needs of affected families and everything was being provided to them after thorough checkup.

“Matter is being investigated taking care of all aspects including use of some natural herbs and plants that can be of poisonous nature; criminal conspiracy and I am sure that things will be out and clear very soon,” Deputy Chief Minister said.

He added that conspiracy, if any, behind the incident would be unearthed and the Government was working to take this matter to its logical conclusion.
