Dussehra festival celebration arrangements finalised in Rajouri, Poonch

Rajouri: The festival of Dussehra will be celebrated on Tuesday in Rajouri and Poonch districts with effigies of Raavan, Meghnath and Kumbkaran will be set to fire at multiple places.

Arrangements for celebration of festival have been finalised by respective Dussehra committees.

The festival is being considered as an occasion marking victory of truth over evil. On Tuesday, main event of Dussehra will be held at Dussehra ground in Rajouri town in which thousands of people are expected to take part.

Effigies of Raavan, Meghnath and Kumbkaran have already been installed and ceremony to burn the same will be organised under tight security arrangements on Tuesday evening, said representatives of Dussehra Committee Rajouri.

Similar event are also scheduled at other places in the district including Kalakote, Sunderbani and Nowshera sub division headquarters.

In Poonch district also, Dussehra will be celebrated with religious and social values at Mendhar, Poonch areas and arrangements have also been finalized at these places.
