DSEK sets deadline for teachers to submit documents to prove equivalence
Srinagar, Dec 26: Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has given a deadline of 21 days to the teachers to produce the requisite documents to prove the genuineness and equivalence of their degrees obtained through distance mode or pursued as in-service teachers.
The deadline has been fixed as a relief to these teachers following the fresh directions received from the administrative department.
“Pursuant to the fresh directions received from Administrative Department, it is notified for the information of all concerned who have not yet submitted the files, papers, to submit the information regarding such degrees on devised format with requisite set of Certificates to this Directorate through proper Channel within a period of 21 days,” reads a fresh notification issued by the DSEK.
The teachers have been asked to submit all the relevant documents including Degree, Marks certificate, Bonafide certificates.
“No further representation or recommendation shall be entertained by the Department after the above final deadline in case any teacher fails to submit the requisite document,” the notification reads.
Earlier in, March this year the School Education Department (SED) vide order number 188-JK (Edu) of 2024 granted one-time exemption in favour of teaching and other staff of SED who have acquired higher qualification during service through distance online mode, as on date without obtaining proper permission from the competent authority as per the conditions conveyed by Finance Department in December 2023.
“Simultaneously a committee of officers was constituted for examining and entertaining such degrees (higher qualifications) for the purpose of promotion or inclusion in seniority lists of those incumbents, in whose favour one-time exemption was granted, strictly as per the provisions contained in SRO-339 of 2005 read with Government order No. 252-HE of 2012 dated May 31 of 2012, government order number 940-Edu of 2017 dated November 17 of 2017,” the notification reads.
It reads that circular instructions were issued by the Finance Department on July 18 of 2022 and the whole exercise was to be completed within two months.
“The Administrative Department vide communication No. Edu HRM/61/2023-01(7172717) May 14 of 2024 conveyed extension in the timeline for a further period of one month to complete the exercise, beyond the date of expiry of two months’ spell i.e. May 14 of 2024,” it reads.
The notification reads that pursuant to the instructions conveyed to the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) a number of teaching and other staff of SED submitted their cases to DSEK through proper channel within the stipulated time frame.
“However a substantial number of cases were found without requisite documents to ascertain the genuineness or equivalence recommendations in this regard could not be finalized,” it reads.
In wake of this the administrative department on December 11 of 2024 has directed to afford one final chance to the teaching and other staff for submission of required documents.
