Dry weather forecast for Kashmir, but thunderstorms likely during mid-week: MeT
Srinagar, April 21: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted generally dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 and 23. However, brief spells of thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds, lightning, and hailstorms, are likely during the afternoon hours on April 24 and 25.
In its latest advisory, the MeT office also forecasted light rain, thundershowers, and gusty winds at scattered locations in the Kashmir Valley and at isolated spots in the Jammu Division during the afternoon of April 21.
Weather conditions are expected to remain dry throughout the region from April 26 to April 30.
The public has been advised to stay updated with official weather and traffic bulletins. Due to recent continuous rainfall, there is an increased risk of landslides, shooting stones, and rockfalls in vulnerable and mountainous areas. Residents are urged to exercise caution and avoid venturing outdoors during thunderstorms and gusty winds.
