Drug peddler’s property worth Rs 16 lakh attached in Samba
Jammu, Apr 8: Police Monday attached property, worth lakhs, belonging to a notorious drug peddler at Rakh Barotian in Vijaypur of Samba district.
“As a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers and smugglers, Samba police attached a single-storey house, valuing about Rs 16 lakh, belonging to notorious drug peddler namely Mohd Younis, son of Noor Alam and resident of Rakh Barotian, tehsil Vijaypur in district Samba,” a police spokesperson said.
The action was taken by police under sections 68-E read with 68-F of NDPS Act of 1985 and was linked with case FIR Nos 203/2021 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act and FIR No 204 /2021 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of Police Station, Vijaypur, the spokesperson said.
“The house was identified as illegally acquired property, during the course of investigation or enquiry conducted by police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler. This operation reaffirms the commitment of Samba police to combat the drug menace,” he added.
