Drug peddler held with contraband substance in Budgam: Police

Srinagar, Sep 09: Police on Monday said it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police spokesperson in a statement issued said that a police party of PP Narbal at a checkpoint established at Javid Colony, Bazar Mohalla, Narbal intercepted a suspicious person identified as Khazir Mohd Sheikh son of Sanaullah Sheikh resident of Bazar Mohalla Narbal. During search, 83 grams of Charas were recovered from his possession.

He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, the spokesperson said.

He said a case vide FIR No. 122/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Magam and investigation has been initiated.
